EXPERT WITNESSBeverley Y. East has been an expert in the science of Forensic Document Examination for 18 years. She received her training in Document Examination in the late eighties with the National Bureau of Questioned Document Examiners in New York. Ms. East studied and apprenticed for two years with the late world renowned expert Felix Klein. Ms. East has examined and submitted reports on a number of cases involving a variety of handwriting identifications, verifying the authenticity of signatures and comments for fraud and malpractice in relation to checks, wills, contracts and medical records. She won a Will and Testament fraud case in the Supreme Court in Kingston, Jamaica on October 6, 2006. As well as assisting individuals both in the United States and England, her client list includes: the Washington Court Hotel, Washington DC Montblanc, New Jersey, the London Taxi Finance Company, Alpha Omega Associates Ltd, and Legal & Judicial Law Services Ltd (Private Investigators) and the London Adoption Center in England. Her Jamaican clients include Jamaica Money Market Brokers, Jamaica National Building Society, RBBT Bank, Jamaica Credit Union League, Jamaica Public Services, and Courts Ltd. Ms. East is a frequent guest on TV and Radio and has authored several articles for various publications and she has been interviewed by the Washington Post and other print media. Her opinion has been requested by the media on landmark cases such as Jon Benet Ramsey, Anthrax letters, the D.C. sniper's handwriting and most recently the Sago Miner's handwriting. She has given numerous seminars throughout the USA and overseas. Her most requested seminar topics is “Whose Signature is it Anyway?,” identifying forged signatures and documents. She lectured at the 4th Annual Investigators and Sentencing Specialists conference for the Public Defenders Commission of Northern Virginia and most recently at the House of Commons, London England. Ms. East is a member of the International Graphoanalysis Society, The National Bureau of Questioned Document Examiners, The National Association for Document Examiners. In 1997 Ms East participated in a “Reliability Research Study” for the British Society of Grapho analysis. She is a founding member of the Association of Qualified Graphologist. |
